Overpowering, unrelenting, unstoppable......Diecast. Formed in 1997 Diecast quickly established a name for themselves in the Boston metal/hardcore scene. With their unique brand of aggressive riffing, signature breakdowns and vocal hooks Diecast knew they had the workings of a true powerhouse. Shortly after their formation they recorded the “Perpetual War� demo, and the “Undo The Wicked� 6 song CD ep. After a revolving door of lineup changes Diecast consists of Colin Schleifer (Vocals), John Kita and Kirk Kolatis(Guitars), Jeremy Wooden (Bass) and Jason Costa (Drums). With this lineup intact Diecast set forth on their campaign to dominate audiences near and far.
In February 2001 Diecast released their critically acclaimed full length "Day Of Reckoning" and illustrates the band's evolution. Recording the album down in Miami FL with producer Paul Trust (Endo, Dracula 2000 Soundtrack) "Day Of Reckoning" saw the band coming into their own identity. It was here that the band's true musical potential was discovered and nurtured. Embracing both metal and hardcore Diecast re-vamped their songwriting skills and created 10 tracks of mindnumbing, eardum blowing goodness. Phenomenal press reviews and 5 weeks at #1 on the CMJ Loud Rock Charts helped elevate Diecast's status tenfold. "Day Of Reckoning" saw the bands fanbase branching out and turning the heads of not only metal and hardcore kids buts fans of nu metal and rock.
Having the spotlight on them and with this additional attention Diecast has been catapulted to forefront of the genre and are considered by many one of the forerunners of heavy music in the metal world. Diecast have played nonstop nationwide throughout the frozen winter months through the smoldering summer and in 2001 alone have played over 150 shows. The band has toured with such acts as God Forbid, Dying Fetus, All Out War and just completed a east coast stint with Alice Cooper. The band has impressed audiences with appearances at Milwaukee Metalfest, The New Jersey Metal Meltdown and Hellfest. The song "Singled Out" from "Day of Reckoning" is set to appear on the opening credits for the ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP video game which will be available for Playstation 2, Microsoft's X-Box and Sega's Dreamcast. Diecast are preparing to conquer not only every stage they set foot on, but the world. Get ready to be cast into the mold known as Diecast.
